remove buzz, not hum
i have read every post, and every website about this and i just cant get it done.
Picture a large hall, full of people all talking at once. On the stage is a man with a mic occasionally talking. The background noise is horrendous but not a problem.
My problem is from the camera – a buzz slowly builds up through out the recording. And this is what i want to remove.In spectral view i can see 8 horizontal lines, clear as day running through the track.
Dehummer only reduces a bit of buzz (interestingly it only removes one horiz band.)It sounds more like a bee than a hum.
And selecting ‘just noise’ messes with the crowd not the fly!
any tips please…

I would suggest selecting the buzz in Spectral Display, and hoping for the best. Sounds like it might have been a bad mic cable. Just in case, here’s some info on the technique:

I think my mistake was not zooming in enough (horizontally/time). Once i tried on a (ridiculosly) small section, made a noise print, and then noise reduction-process. it worked well.
