I’m just curious how others might try to repair this image. I got a nice interview with this subject, and I like the look, but the camera captured an obvious smudge on the mirror that was not so obvious in the dimly lit cafe. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Doug

Premiere isn’t going to give you many tools here.

In After Effects, you have the clone stamp tool (Pretty much the same as Photoshop), that will allow you to duplicate surroundings.

That would be a great first pass. With time, you can pretty much cover up anything,

If the camera moves, that’s a bit more complicated.

Thanks Vince. You burst my fantasy that someone had found some less time-consuming way, but it’s true, at least there’s not motion to contend with. All Best.

The clone tool is going to be a painful way to try and fix this.

You might be better just trying to add some more blur to that area of the mirror, just to break up the defined shape to the smudge. You would need to mask that effect in with some roto. I might be enough to just hide the problem.

Thanks, Conrad. I’ll give that a try first. I appreciate hearing different suggestions.
