    Hello,

I am fairly new to Final Cut Pro and I made some opening titles in After Effects. I then rendered them and I want to put them over the video in Final Cut Pro. I know you can do the color key and remove the black behind the text, but I thought there must be a way where I would not have to wait for it to render before I could preview it. Essentially, I am wondering if there is a Final Cut equivalent to the “screen” layer setting in After Effects. I don’t know what it’s called, I’m calling it a layer setting haha but After Effects guys will know what I’m talking about – “screen” that removes black in a layer.

    Thank you

You can render out your grfx from AE with Alpha channel to key out the black in the edit.

You can “Cntrl” click on your track in the sequence and select composite modes.
