I have a moving image on a plain black background. Is there a way to get rid of the black so that it can become transparent. I’ve tried using a luma and color key but both didn’t work as well I’d like. Is there a way to use an alpha matte in someway?

Change the transfer mode of the layer to “Screen.” :]

As a note. You may have to tweak the levels just a little for screen towrk, in case your black isn’t completely black.
