I am trying to remove some audio noise from a few clips. The odd thing is, I don’t notice it when playing the clips normally, but can hear this odd popping/buzzing when I play fast-forward. I tried reworking the clips at a different audio rate, but same result. Thoughts?
    I am using FCP 7.
    Thanks!

Try taking the clips into Apple Soundtrack Pro. (You already have it. It comes with the Final Cut suite) It does a good job of reducing noise.

you can also try Levelator for free.

if you her it when fast-shuttling, it’s probably low-frequency hum or motor noise from a camera or something in the room. You can probably kill it with a notch filter.

Try a high pass filter set to 70hz. Most likely low frequency noise like rumble which you might not be picking up on your speakers.

Levelator is not noise reduction but a form of normalising with some dynamics compression.
