Remove annoying buzzing noise from video?
I have been making videos for fun and then editing them with sony vegas and uploading them to youtube. The only problem is that my camera’s microphone records this constant buzzing noise that makes it hard to pay attention to the video. Is there a way to remove the buzzing noise in sony vegas or do I just have to deal with it?

Go to the Track EQ that’s on each audio track by default and use the preset [Sys] 60 Hz hum notch using four stacked filters. This should be a good starting point to remove the hum. If it’s not 60 Hz hum just adjust the frequency until you find it. (for example: in PAL countries it would be a 50 Hz hum)

If you have Sound Forge, it comes with a Noise Reduction plug in that you can use. You have to have it “learn” the noise profile (in a section of the audio that is ONLY the buzz) and then apply it…works great!

…and if you want to go beyond Vegas, iZotope RX has some serious noise reduction tools that work on all types of noise.

If you can find an old version of Cool Edit 1, it comes with a noise reduction filter that works better than any others I’ve tried.
Same thing though, you need a fairly large section of just the noise, 5 to 15 sec works fine.
