    removable disk appears in desktop but not finder

    Hi just wondering why my removable usb drives only appear on the desktop and not in the finder. When this happened on my old computer, i could search for the name of the removable disk and it would appear, but even that doesn’t work on this computer. Is there a way to get these drives to appear in the finder?

    specs:
    Mac Pro 5.1
    MAC OSX 10.6.4
    Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processor

    Try this:
    In Finder, goto Finder>Preferences
    Click on the “sidebar” icon at the top of the window
    Does Removable Media have check mark next to it?
