I’m based in the U.S. and have been making remote short films with actors all over the world (Norway, Canada, Scotland, England, Argentina) and my goal is to work with actors in as many countries as possible, and I was contacted by an actress in Russia and I want to work with them Is it problematic currently to work with someone there? I know Russian relations with other countries is a sensitive topic currently due to the war. One thing shouldn’t have anything to do with the other and I want to work with them, but I was just curious what everyones thoughts were.

    In my opinion

It’s important to keep in mind that international relations can be complex and sensitive, and there may be political or legal considerations to take into account when working with individuals or organizations based in certain countries. In the case of Russia, there are currently tensions and sanctions in place with several countries, including the United States, which could potentially impact business and financial transactions.

That being said, as long as you are following all applicable laws and regulations related to your business and the countries you are working with, there should not be any inherent problem with collaborating with individuals or organizations based in Russia. It’s always a good idea to do your due diligence and research the specific circumstances and potential risks before entering into any agreements or partnerships.

Additionally, it may be helpful to have open and honest communication with the actress in Russia about any potential challenges or concerns, and to work together to find solutions and ensure that the collaboration is mutually beneficial and respectful.
