  • REMOTE DISC/FCP7 Installer Issue

Hello all, I don’t post here often, so if I have posted in the wrong spot, please forgive.

I recently upgraded from an older Mac to the New Mac Pro, which does not have a CD/DVD drive. I am trying to install Final Cut Studio but have gotten stuck. While using Remote Disc from my older computer, the Final Cut Studio installer asks for the next disc in the installation, but does not recognize when the disc has been inserted into the remotely used computer. Does this make sense? Has anyone experienced this? Anyone know a way around this?

If it matters I am using Yosemite 10.10.3

Easiest solution is to make disc images of all the discs. Mount them all on the desktop, start the installer and go grab a cup of coffee. It will install what you select without asking for the next disc because you’ve mounted all the images 😉

Either that or buy an external Superdrive.

I thought about this. I eventually found a friend with an external DVD drive, though. Thanks for your reply!

While I found an external drive, I was intrigued by your advice. Did not know a sequence of installs would work on their own given the next image was mounted. thanks for that info! seems pretty obvious but i never thought of it. Thanks, again. I’m sure it will be helpful in the future
