Relinking transcoded clips for online Avid finish.
Hey everyone,
I’m fairly new to Avid, having switched from Premiere and FCP not too long ago. I can not find any specific information that directly relates to my situation.I have inherited a job that was originally supposed to be finished/online in Smoke, but they have decided last minute to do the finishing in Avid Symphony 6. The workflow was as follows:
Link to AMA clips
Transcoded the clips to DNXHD 145
The original AMA’ed clips were then unfortunately deleted from the project.
All transcoded (master) clips were then sub clipped.
The sub clips are what was edited with.So basically, I want to point the transcoded master clips to either the original raw media or even if it has to be newly transcoded media (DNXHD 220X).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bring all the original media back online via a new AMA link, then try a relink to selected. It may just relink anyway – hide your transcoded mediafiles by adding xxx to the folder name before launching Media Composer and see what happens after creating new AMA links.
