relinking problem
I must be “thick” or something, but what I think should be an easy fix, I have become puzzled.
I have a project that I have been editing (Xpress pro). My project files and media are located on an external hard drive. Today I went to open project and all of my files have become “off-line”. The media files still appear on hard drive where they have always been located.
I am thinking that I should just be able to highlight all clips in bin (only one bin) and relink them to files on hard drive. Choosing the only option “Relink offline master clips to online media files” and choosing “All available drives” I click on “ok” and I am told “no media files relinked”.
Am I missing something?

You might have to have rescan your drives. Avid for some reason tends to forget where it stores its media files from time to time.
