relinking original audio
I have an edited clip for which I’d like to re-link the original audio (I deleted the original audio from the timeline and replaced it with something else… now I regret this). Is there a way I can do this without having to re-edit the original file? That is, I’d like to pull in the original audio from a longer file and have it respect the in/out points that are in my edited file.

There is no way to “relink” the audio files, once it has been deleted from the timeline.

love2lindy, if you place the CTI over the cut point and press T the clip will launch in the Source Monitor and the audio will be there for you. Just set an In Point and a Out Point at the right places and set the Source Window to Take Audio and use an Overlay edit to bring only the audio down to your Timeline.
