I couldn’t figure out how one of my media files had gone offline. All my media was on an external drive and everything else had reconnected fine. The media at issue was clearly in my events folder because I could play it from the events screen. I tried relinking the media, and it appeared to work, but the red screen still didn’t disappear. The media was also a synchronized file, so I was wondering if that was causing some issue.

I figured out the problem: I was using a different computer that didn’t have a plug in I had used. I ended up having to add the plug in to the new version of final cut, and then edit the piece again with the plug in. (It wouldn’t use the original plug in file that I had already manipulated.)

Just want to save someone else the frustration!

    Finally it’s easy to understand.

It’s not only about just to add the plugin at the new workstation — it has to be exactly the same path!!
In case you install it correctly no new edit needs to be done.
