Relinking failed RAID0
Hi all,
I have an PC based editing system that uses 2x1TB drives set as RAID 0 as the capture drive. The RAID is controlled by the chipset using Intel Matrix Storage Manager in the BIOS.Last night while plugging in a card I inadvertently pulled a cable bundle and disconnected power to the system drive. Naturally, on startup nothing much happened. After I worked out what was going on and re-started, my RAID 0 showed as “Failed”, – both drives were working, but the first drive showing as a non RAID drive and the second showing as part of the RAID.
The ports show as
port 0 = system drive,
port 1 = DVD drive,
port 2 = 1TB (non RAID)
port 3 = 1TB (Part of RAID)I can only assume that on the initial startup the BIOS could not find the system drive and then tried the next drive in the line, causing it to unlink itself from the RAID.
Is there a way of re-linking these drives and recovering the data? The Intel Matrix Storage Console “help files” seem to indicate that recovery is as simple as restarting the system, but obviously nothing happens (otherwise I would not be sending out my cry for help)
Thanks everyone
Kym
