Somehow two externally linked video files went missing in the event and when I now try to relink them I am told that they are incompatible (the original file and the new file have no shared media range.

However, the files are the exact files I used initially so I am not sure what to do. They have not been touched by any Adobe or other 3rd party apps.

    Any suggestions?

I’m sure others will chime in, but take a look at this:

Have not tried it, but I’ve heard it will work…

Interesting. Didn’t work for me though.

The only difference I can see between the older missing version and the newly importer version of the same clip is the media start and end is different (duration is the same). I’m not sure how that would have changed.

What is the original source of the clips?

Sent from various clients for another client’s reel edit.

Turns out I just needed to add .mov to the file name and things reconnected correctly.
