I am new to Avid and I hope that someone can help me on this. I have trascoded Dnx 36 files from Alexa. Audio is on Wav. Brought Dnx files into a bin, brought Wav files into the same bin, sunk the audio files with the Dnx files. New MXF audio files were generated into Avid Media Files/MXF/1 folder. Moved the sink audio and video files into new bin (it is a single link or file at this point). I now want to make an ALE of those single files that link back to the audio and video. Everytime I have tried the new ALE after relink will bring back the Video but no audio?? I have generated AAF’s that link for all clips but would like to just have one clean ALE file. What exactly is happening when Avid asks to consolidate? If the audio and video files become combined is there a way once the edit starts to then break out just the audio to use again if need be? Help
