hi, i just did some elaborate animation using a low res version of an image, for performance reasons, then when i want to link it to the high res one how can i make the basic motion settings scale accordingly? i thought i had done this plenty of times but now it doesn’t seem to work. i’ve tried both relinking and pasting content on the animated clip, as well as pasting the motion attributes over the content. i’m using fcp 6.

    thanks,

If you figure this out, please let me know. AFAIK you can’t do this in FCP.

you’re probably right. what i realize now that i’ve done before is relinking an entire sequence from an “offline” version, which does indeed rescale all the parameters proportionally. since the functionality is there it must be accessible somehow. maybe change the sequence to the res of the still, nest it and use the nest. i’ll let you know.

You need to offline at the same frame size as the online – otherwise FCP cannot possibly undertand what scaling to apply. All relinking does it make FCP reference a different file.

Hope that helps (but suspect it doesn’t)
