  Relink To File(s) Issues 8.5

  Hi,

  I’ve been noticing some odd behavior with the new Relink To File(s) feature in Avid 8.5. (I was quite thrilled when I learned of this new feature as I could never get relinking to work in previous versions.)

  My students have begun working on a project and linking media saved on the computer’s Media Drive. During the midst of the project, they have copied the files onto their own hard drives, relinked the media by Relinking to File(s) in Avid and the media updates to the new drive.

  However in some instances when the students exit and open the same project on another computer, the media has gone offline and the media drive has reverted to the previous drive which is the previous’ computer’s Media Drive.

  Has anyone else experienced linked media reverting to the previous drive with the new Relink To File(s) feature? Am I missing something?
