  Relink Subclips without changing In and Out points

  I have an .ALE of clips we’ve logged that I need to import into a Premiere sequence. The ALE imports fine and creates a bunch of subclips with the correct in/out points, but the media is all offline (which makes sense because there’s no filepath in the ALE file)

  BUT, when I relink the media to the full imported tape, the in and out points change to the in and out points for the full tape, which defeats the purpose of having subclips at all since I then have to go back and reset the in/out points manually.

  Is there a fix for this? Or am I just fundamentally misunderstanding how the ALE workflow works?

  For clarification (simplified example):
  I import an ALE and 2 subclips are created:
  Subclip A with In(00:00:00) and Out(00:00:10)
  Subclip B with In(00:00:10) and Out(00:00:20)

  I click Subclip A and select Link Media, Select TapeA (Duration: 01:00:00, contains all of the subclips), and SubclipA changes to In(00:00:00) Out(01:00:00), effectively losing the in and out points it had as a subclip.
