relink mpeg footage
Hello.
I’m opening up an old AE project and trying to relink the media gone offline by using the “replace footage” option.
The media files are mpegs and they were originally shot on a JVC GY-HD100. When I replace a media file, it shows up funkily, stating things as the file being 0,027 fps or the duration only being few frames long etc. When I then double-click on the click from the project window to screen the footage in a source monitor, it’s blank (black monitor). The same thing is happening when I simply open the clip in my QuickTime player, which opens the clip but won’t play it, there is only a blank, black monitor. In VLC player though, I can play it.
I might add that I’m working on a macosx and on AE6.
Does anybody have a suggestion for me?

What is the full version number of AE that you’re using?
Although, if you can’t see the files playing correctly in another media player, that’s a pretty good indication that there’s a problem unrelated to After Effects.Have you installed any codec packs on the system? (K-Lite and others can cause odd issues like that.)

I went back to AE CS5.5, and there is no problem there… go figure.
