December 29, 2012 at 1:54 amThanks a lot Julian,
I already tried to downgrade to 1.10 but i can’t get a connection with the camera.
When i connect the EX1 to the PC via the USB cable i can hear the windows sound that a connection is being made.
Without the USB connected the EX1 is starting up very slowly and when it is booted it gives error E-17003.
But the wheels on the binary package downloader keeps turning and keeps saying “<>” so i can’t install 1.10.
Now my hope is set to version 1.05, eagerly hoping to try that if u can send that wednesday.
I am pretty scared that i maybe killed my cam. Only good news is that i need the camera in the beginning of february so i do have some time.
Anyway thanks for your help so far and have a good new year.

December 29, 2012 at 2:05 amIs that on your windows 7 pc?
It may be worth reading through some threads to see if that could be the issue.

December 29, 2012 at 1:42 pmThat was indeed on my Windows 7 PC. After a bad sleep i tried to update to 1.10 with the help of an old Windows XP laptop from my dad.
That worked and i got firmware 1.10 installed. After that i incrementally installed 1.11, 1.12 and 1.14. But at 1.20 i got an error in the update tool saying: Please obtain the correct update tool.
Then i switched back to my own Windows 7 64 bit desktop and retried 1.20 but got the same error. So i decided to move on with firmware 1.25 on my windows 7 computer. That worked great. After that 1.26 and 1.30.
Now it looks like that FW 1.30 is succesfully in the EX1 without any errors. Will do some testshots and clip deletes later today to find out if it really works.
I am really happy and thankful for your help Julian! We (or better yet Sony) owes you bigtime!

December 29, 2012 at 7:01 pmThat’s great Martijn, I hope it tests out ok.
Dennis, who downloaded the files a couple of days ago, also had a problem with 1.20 so I’ll have to check that they haven’t been corrupted.

January 5, 2013 at 8:15 pmHi Tom.
I sent a Drobox link earlier on but didn’t have time to reply to the thread.
I see that you’ve now joined the shared folder.
Good luck … and don’t forget to upgrade one step at a time.

January 11, 2013 at 10:29 pmI’m looking for v.1.11 up from there. I have 1.20 and 1.30, which is how I updated the camera from 1.11, but I found out it should be done incrementally, so I guess I should downgrade and do it the right way. I’m having no problems with 1.30 so far though.

January 14, 2013 at 1:53 pmHi Casey.
Most (or all) of the problems seem to be from people upgrading from version 1.05. It normally takes a long time to boot up and/or continually produces error messages.
If it all appears to work OK then I would be inclined to leave it as it is.
If you want to get a copy of the firmware files then let me know an email address and I can invite you onto my Dropbox share.
Regards,
Julian.
