    Hello,

I have an ai file that has hundreds of layers (given to me by a client). I REALLY need a very quick way to release all the individual layers from the parent layer so I can bring them into aftereffects. Dragging each object onto a new layer is going to take an Insane amount of time. HELP!!!!!

    Select All
From the layers palette flyout menu choose >> release to layers sequence

You likely will have to then select all the layers it creates and move them out of the original contaianing layer (watch for the black lien in the layers palette
