Rejoining Audio/Video?
This phenomenon just started happening to me, as video/audio was always linked before now:
When I drag a video file with audio onto my timeline, the tracks are always split automatically. Audio is movable without video, vice versa. They always used to import together. I know one could group them, but is there a way to ensure that they are actually linked like when you typically drag them on and when you split one, you split both?
It’s rather annoying to have to split the audio track and the video track.
So what I would like to know is A) can you relink them (not just group) for splitting purposes, and B) make sure all audio/video files dragged onto the timeline are auto linked (unlike mine now)?

Sounds like you have Ignore Event Grouping turned on. Turn this off by going to the Options tab or control+shift+u will toggle this on/off.
