I recently had to restore my hard drive from a Time Machine backup. Everything seems fine except apparently FCP lost the plugin Soft Focus (and maybe some others, this is the first I’ve noticed though).

In the folder Macintoshi HD > Library > Application Support > Pro Apps > Internal Plug-Ins the FxPlug folder was missing. I found that someone had uploaded the folder contents in this thread https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/8/982062#982076 so I downloaded it and dropped it in. Nothing changed. Soft Focus still does not appear in the Effects list under Blur.

Is there something I have to do in to install or direct FCP to the Filters.bundle file?

    Thanks for your help!

If a plug-in is an FxPlugin I normally put mine in the HD>Library>Plug-ins>FxPlug folder. If I put them into the “normal” plug-ins folder you were referring to, they won’t show up in FCP.

Where would I find the HD folder? Spotlight couldn’t find it so I’m assuming that’s the folder I lost.

    Thanks

Never mind, I just realized that you were referring to the Hard Drive.

That didn’t work either. So far I’ve put the files in:

Macintoshi HD > Library > Application Support > Pro Apps > Internal Plug-Ins > FxPlug

Macintoshi HD > Library > Application Support > Final Cut Pro System Support > Plug-Ins

    Macintoshi HD > Library > Plug-Ins > FxPlug

Final Cut Pro will not read the Finlters.bundle in any of these locations… unless I have to do something other than just put the file in one of those folders. Thanks again for your help.
