Registered symbol in Final cut
Posted by Josh Fischel on June 9, 2008 at 8:57 pmI need to use the registered symbol, the r with a circle around it, as text in a project i’m doing. Anyone have an idea how I can do that?
Thanks,

June 9, 2008 at 11:02 pm1) Open System Preferences — International — Input Menu
2) Check the Character Pallet box
3) Click on the American Flag up top on the right side of the Menu Bar and then on Show Character Pallet.
4) Look around and find what you need.
5) Highlight it
6) Click on the Insert key bottom right.

Keep coming up with easy shortcuts like that and I’ll be out of a job… Wait a minute, this isn’t a job, so keep ’em coming…

June 10, 2008 at 4:23 amOK, here’s another one for you, David.
It’s a widget called Character Pal that gives you keyboard shortcuts for all kinds of symbols. You can find it at https://www.tacowidgets.com/widgets/characterpal/ -

June 10, 2008 at 5:30 amYears ago I did a Google search and found a text file that had lots of different unusual characters. It gave the keyboard shortcuts for Mac or you could also just copy & paste. It seems to work with all the fonts I have put copyright or registered symbols on.
I have a shortcut to the file on the desktop. Easier than remembering shortcuts.
