Regen TC
Hey guys,
Been having trouble getting our Varicam to Regen TC. I’ve gone through the menus and TCG SET HOLD is set to off, and FIRST REC TC is set to REGEN. I usually rewind the shot tape about 20 seconds back for review, after playback I stop about 2 seconds before the end of the TC. Then I hit the return button on the hand grip, but I am unable to cue the tape back up properly. I know you can just use the return button itself to view up to the last 10 seconds of footage, but sometimes you need to go back farther than 10 seconds for review. I’ve been searching the site and I know someone just posted about this recently, but it seems his problem was more related to FCP and switching between frame rates. Anyway, any suggestions would be great.

I,ve had the same problem,when putting in, say a half shot shot,from the day before,and wanting to regen the TC.HDCAM has a switch on the side panel,put in the tape and hit return.
With the varicam I set the menu to Regen,put in tape,hit return… but no cigar?I hope someone can tell us.Guys at the rental place didnt know either?
