    Regards Crushes in FC Pro 6

    Has anyone experience one of the following;

    FC Pro 6 stops playing while using print to Video function from either the timeline or the preview selection and also using the mark in and out points.

    We have taken these steps so far;

    Reboot the Mac ( 4 core Xeon chip with 8 gb ram ) Loaded with latest patches.
    The video that we use is Quick Time self contained movie 4 by 3 aspect ratio pal.

    this is not a “crush” and it doesn’t sound like a “crash” either. Your computer doesn’t shut down, right?
    Does the playback stop at the exact same place each time?

    Has this ever worked for you in the past?
    Is this failure to print to tape a sudden development?
    Are you new to FCP?

    Hi Bogiesan you are Wright Technically its not a crush, the video goes in freeze mode but it does not stop at the same place this happens to both long and short programs and we need to escape to proceed.

    This Mac is at a work environment I have been working with it for 7 months it’s also part of a server/network setup the QuickTime movies are imported from the server then copied to tape. This freeze happens 3 to 5 times a month twice in one program at different points.

    Having 12 years nonlinear experience on Amiga OS and PC platforms the odd freeze did occur on the older setups but on today’s high-end nonlinear systems it should not happen PC. Or Mac.

    And no I’ not having a go at the Macs.

    Many Thanks

    Terry
