Refreshing thumbnails in timeline?
Hi –
I have some thumbnails in my timeline which won’t refresh after having been re-linked to the media. The clips themselves are fine and appear in the actual video, but I’m still getting the “unrendered clip” view in the timeline.
I tried changing the clip parameters and then re-rendering, thinking an old render file was “stuck,” but that didn’t work. I scrubbed the thumbnail, which made the actual thumbnail appear while scrubbing – but not when I released the mouse. I’ve trashed prefs as well.
Anyone have a thought on this. Is there a specific cache for these thumbnails?

There is a thumbnail cache. It usually defaults to wherever your “Final Cut Pro Documents” folder lives. Since you didn’t know about it, it’s likely you’ve never changed it’s whereabouts. Or you could just search for “thumbnail”.
Trash that, and you should get your thumbnails refreshed.

By the way, thanks for the help. I had already sussed this out. Must have been an early senior-moment, as I was well aware of the thumbnail cache. Some days even the simple stuff just flies over my head!
