reflex and overlapping
Posted by Dan Rapaport on August 23, 2005 at 10:47 pmhello,
is there a way to prevent overlapping in reflex?
Like shapes overlapping?!
For now, I have strange artifacts if there are some collisions
thanksDan

August 24, 2005 at 5:32 pmHave you played w/ ‘accumulate
folds’ and ‘boundary shape’?
Not sure what you mean by ‘collisions’
and ‘overlapping’ but you can easily
define polys that intersect completely:
A good example is when
poly1 (from shape) = poly2 (to shape),
i.e. no warping.

August 24, 2005 at 6:18 pmin fact, I have collisions between 2 shapes from the same “from”.
Like 2 lines that overlap. They cross each other. ==> strange artifact.
The solution seems to be to have more layers in this case
but was wondering if there was any priority settings between shapes.
Is it clearer? 🙂Thanks

August 25, 2005 at 6:02 pmThere is currently no ordering – layer-like type grouping – there is some layering only in Twixtor and RSMB now but it does involve making a matte to define the layer. For now I imagine you would have to do a 2 pass process, using the boundary shape on the background pass to avoid problems with the object being occluded by the foreground or something like that. You might also (?) be able to recover your current work by simply duplicating it and setting the per shape warping to 0 or 100% depending on if you are foreground or background. We thought about setting up a second Boundary shape to internalize such layering and other solutions, but we don’t have a solution for that today.

I just imagine what would be the next reflex version! 😉Dan
