reflective 3D buttons & graphics

February 12, 2008 at 1:56 amI have a number of flat logo’s that I need to make look more 3 dimensional. Not true 3D but more reflective shading, like the type of buttons you see, on Apple’s website etc..
https://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore
also
essentially I guess these are just overlays, added, multiplied or screened over the graphic.
Is there a stock image source for this type of thing?
or perhaps a set of plugins that does this? Thanks!

February 12, 2008 at 6:36 pmIf you’re referring to the shiny buttons, it’s often referred to as the ‘aqua technique’, or ‘apple aqua technique’, or ‘aqua buttons’. It can be accomplished in raster and vector!
Just do a search and you will find a ton of tut’s covering the subject. 🙂Vince
