Reflecting Jpeg image on the floor
Posted by Joe Bodego on October 31, 2016 at 3:49 amHello, i have a jpeg image that i would like to reflect on the floor or any primitive of my choice. Here is what i did, I created the floor then a plane that i raised above the floor. I added a texture to the floor with 75% reflectance. I imported the jpeg and made a texture then attached it to the plane but no reflection. Can anyone help with this?

October 31, 2016 at 9:08 pmMy first guess would be that you are using R16 or later, in which case you need to add a reflection layer in the Reflectance channel of your floor texture (R16 changed the way C4D deals with reflection by making a new channel – Reflectance – which uses a layer system). When the Reflectance channel is checked on, it adds a default Specular layer only. To add reflection in the Reflectance channel click on the ADD button and pick one of the choices (I chose Beckmann for my example below).
Also, checkout these GSG tutorials for more info:

November 11, 2016 at 5:44 pmNo i havent, its a tough one especially for a newbie like me. I can reflect off the floor and some objects but i want a jpeg image to be reflected in the front of an object. I used a “Plain” object to reflect.

November 11, 2016 at 6:45 pmGo here and download https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B05YxEJr03dUUEFSRmVSYzBKcnc/view?usp=sharing. I used a plain which would reflect on the object as you would see

November 11, 2016 at 8:12 pmHere is your project with an image applied to the plain and a reflective material on the object. I have moved the plane slightly and added lights so that the image is reflected on the object, and adjusted the viewing position in order to see the reflection.

Let me know if this helps.
