    The “right” way to do this is to buy the MainConcept plugin so you can edit MPEG natively and export it properly.

    I would try capturing from a DVD player (or the camera) using S/video connection to a A/D converter (most DV cams will do this) as Digital Video.

    Well, google told me that 352 x 480 is Half-D1, a.k.a China Video Disc and apparently is a better format to use with DVD players than its very close relative, the SVCD
