Reel names mysteriously changing during batch capture!
So I just upgraded to Tiger and Final Cut Studio and during my first batch capture my reel names would just change without warning! Everything’s going fine capturing DV-NTSC material to a FW drive and for whatever reason each time that I would stop the batch by pressing esc and then re-start the batch FCP would randomly change 3 or 4 of the reel names within a bin of clips all with the same reel name! The reel name was rather long and didn’t fit within the box without scrolling, the new names would be like the begining of the reel name then an “…” then the end of the origional reel name with about 6 letters removed from the middle. I never had a problem like this before the upgrade. I now have had to go back to the browser and manually copy/paste the proper reel name into the offline clips and then re-start the batch.
Anyone else having this problem? I searched the archives and didn’t see any post’s similar to this.

Not seeing that here. Did you do a clean install of Tiger or did you upgrade from Panther?

DId a clean install of everything across the board. I’ve made the mistake of just doing the upgrade before and have learned my lesson.

Definitely a head scratcher there. I’ll keep an eye out and see if it pops up here, but so far we’ve batch captured 7 episodes and some other projects with everything good. Even after using the ESC key on occassion to fix things.
