reducing rolling shutter
I just want to see whether anyone thinks this might work as a way to reduce the rolling shutter on DSLR. I’m planning a short with a lot of handheld shooting and we though that it might be a possible to shoot with a higher shutter speed and then add a degree of motion blur using the reel motion blur filter in after effects. Has anyone tried this before?

I think that’s the best solution.
I’ve never tried by my self because I’ve never had a real problem with Rolling shutter, but i’m sure will work, Increasing shutter speed will reduce the geometric distortion for sure, and i know quite well how works Revision Motion Blur.
There are plugins that claims to correct picture in post, but i’ve never tried.

It’ll work, but be careful with fast motion. With higher shutterspeeds you’ll decrease the amount of motion blur which can lead to strobing motion.
