I’m encoding thirty minute talking head sessions one to its own DVD. So, I can afford space to be very high quality. When I encode using Compressor 6.5 to 7.8 max, 2pass VBR, the footage looks okay, but in the background there is a lot of noise in the color. The background was a simple blue gelled light on the wall. It actually wasn’t even that intense. The original movie file looks fine and the noise isn’t visible, but you can definitely see it in the DVD mpeg2 file.

Any way to eliminate this, or improve the final result?
