  Reducing clip size

  By some chance is there a way that Vegas through a plug-in perhaps that allows “save as” to save only the parts of the clip that are used with maybe a short extra head and tail?
  That use to be the case when we were all using AVI files.

  Now if I’m using a dozen 5 seconds from a 30 minute tape in m2t or m2ts format the only way I can do it is render out each clip to a different name and if dozens of clips need to be done, it’s impractical.

  If someone came up with a plug-in for this, I’d sure pay good money for it just to save on all the HD space I use.
