/Redshift) Fake proximity shader (via AO) for opacity

December 21, 2022 at 9:56 amHi, Im trying to use the fake proximity shader method using the AO node to control the opacity of an object. Since the object im trying to get the proximity to is inside my main object, I checked to reverse the normals on the AO node. The result looks just fine, but when I try to use it to drive the opacity the transparent parts of the object just show up black. Does anyone know what could cause it or if its a render depth related issue? Reversing the colors of the AO works just fine btw.
Here are some screenshots to illustrate what I mean

You can try these out since it’s AOV
Go to AOV dialogue box then change RGB to RGBA and that’s all
Secondly
To clearly get what the problem or error is then you should pipe the material to output so that you see the error and correct it
NOTE- The ramp is piped straight to output
Now to actually save time of piping the items with a new node editor just solo it using the hot key “S”
Thanks
