Hi you all. I’m back. You thought you were shed of me? Not quite.
A simple problem but beyond me. Through the video track is a red line. I move the line up and down and it looks like the brightness changes from white out to black. and it runs through the entire track. When I put the finger on the line the word “fade” appears. The line is in the middle of the track for normal contrast and brightness. I’ve looked at event fx nothing to indicate any thing there. Looks like it may be a fade function of some kind Where do I change this function.

Well, I fixed the problem but I threw out the baby with the bathwater. I just undid all edits which removed what ever I had done. Not a big loss however as this was early in a project. See you

Next time, try searching for what that tool does so that you know for future reference.
That particular line is the “fade to color” envelope and can come in handy of needed.
You access it by right-clicking in the track header area and selecting it.
