How do I go about redesignating multiple clips for a given project after the original footage has been moved to another drive?

For instance, I cut a video together using four different pieces of video, end up moving those pieces of video to another folder/drive. . .then, when I go to project again, the only thing I’ve been able to do so far with any effectiveness is use the ‘link media’ or ‘replace file’ one clip at a time. I know there has to be a faster way; Sony Vegas, after you find just ONE clip to replace, then gives you the option of using the same folder for ALL the pieces.
(I’m not trying to bring about any rivalry here; just that I haven’t seen this yet with Premiere.)
Any advice? It’ll make me a rockstar!!!!

    Carlton,

Hey, Man. What version of Premiere are you using? Here is the quickest way I’ve found to do this:
When you open the project and you are prompted to “find” the missing files – You can browse to the correct folder and it will find all of the “other” files that are in the folder you choose. Hope this helps.

I’m using CS5. I’ll try what you recommended, only that the program doesn’t seem to like taking cues to ‘find’ the stuff once I tell it to. (Or so it seems that way.)

I realize this is an old post, but I just wanted to help anyone who might be viewing this thread now.

Select the multiple clips you want to change [in the bin] by holding down the shift key.

Right click and select “Make Offline”. Tell it the files still exist (unless the don’t).

They will go offline. Highlight them all again and select “Link Media”. It will ask you to locate one file in the folder and will find the rest for you. Bata-bing. Bata-boom! Time saved!
