RED Rocket driver 1.4.7 all good?
Posted by Robert Pitman on April 19, 2011 at 12:18 amHello All,
Just wondering if anyone can tell me, does the new 1.4.7 REDrocket drive work happily with Resolve 7.1.1?
Cheers,

April 19, 2011 at 9:13 amThe last version that I know of for Resolve 7.1.1 is 1.3.5c.
Any reason to go with 1.4.7 ?

April 19, 2011 at 1:01 pmHello Christopher,
If possible I want to use the new build of REDcine-x (449) which needs REDrocket driver 1.4.7 to use the REDrocket.
But I also want to continue using Resolve 7.1.1, so hoping someone has jumped before me… anyone?
Cheers,

April 19, 2011 at 11:39 pmHello Gabriele,
Thanks for letting us know. Can you downgrade the REDrocket driver? Or is the update also changing the firmware of the REDrocket and thus making it incompatible with the old driver?
Cheers,

April 20, 2011 at 11:19 pmI’ve got the same issue. Silly that I didn’t look before leaping.
This update to the RR Driver includes a firmware update.

April 21, 2011 at 4:14 amyou can downgrade th edriver for sure , but not sure about the firmware …
mu=y experience was :
-installed a RR with latest firmware loaded in It (the RR i use in SCRATCH ) and istalled the latest RR driver on my OSX resolve OS
-did not worked
-replaced with another RR i have with the previous firmware but still latest driver on OSX
-did not worked
-Installed the previous official RR driver on the same OSX (still same RR with older firmware)
-It worked
I wish BMD will update Resolve 7.1.1 with the new red SDK (before the launch of resolve V8(

May 6, 2011 at 2:27 amThe same for the Apple Color. Has to stay with 1.3.5 until the FCS installer gets updated. For Resolve, hope there would be update for the latest 1.4.7 driver even before version 8. I have so much faith in Blackmagic Design lately.
