Every time I drag a clip from the Viewer down to the Timeline, I get the red line above the timeline incicating that I need to render it. It’s very annoying. is there a setting I can use so that I won’t have to render clips in the timeline? Thanks. JW

The reason you have that line for unaffected clips is that the compression or codec of your clip does not match the timeline settings. Make sure the two match and you should resolve the issue.

Change your setting from Safe RT To Unlimited RT….Beware though…it may result in more dropped frames due to the fact that your computer will be attempting to play back more real effects in real time than your computer can handle.

And, keep in mind that the Easy Setup preset you choose when opening a new project does not get applied to Seq 1, which is already open. Every new seq. you open after selecting Easy Setup will have those preset characteristics applied. This will snag you if you if you’re not aware.
