    Editors,

Is it now possible for Color to read a Red Raw file directly without a Log and Transfer process? I want to apply a dailies look, and render to ProRes so the source code/file names match. I’m planning a Red feature and want to have a colorist add the look rather than the DIT in the field with the least render/ingest times. Then conform back to the Raw file/TC.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks, Film Joe

Color can link an EDL to the R3D files so this is one way to get Red raw into Color. However, Color then renders to ProRes or uncompressed and gives the render a totally different file name so you will break the path.

If you want to be pre grading before edit, then have a look at RedCine X or Red Alert –
