I went looking for the light wipe I have used a lot in earlier versions but cannot find it. Has it been renamed? Or is it gone? It;s a nice easy fx and clients like it. Is it stil in 4.3.4 somewhere?

    Hi Peter,

Do you recall the exact name of the wipe effect?

    Thanks,

    Peter.

Hi Peter – I think it was called “Light Wipe” and lived in the wipes section. YOu could do a “laser from one end to another, wipe to and from center (or positionable) with doors or a circle pattern choosable.

I think I found it – can you try this one:

    RED 4.0 Keyframe Library/Transitions/Filter-mix Transitions/Lightsweep Wipe.red

Is this is the one you are searching for?

    Cheers,

    Peter.

Sorry, no. I wish I still had a copy of 2.53 so I could show you. I believe it was called light wipe or light wedge or wedge wipe…

Hmmm … I’m really not sure exactly what the effect looks like but if you have an old render example that you can send me I can help you replicate the look and create a new settings file for your library.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

I sent an email to support@borisfx.com with the clip. Please check out how the logo is effected on – that’s the wipe, but it does so much more.

Found! My bad – it was an FEC plugin. Didn’t realize it was a separate product at the time.
