    Hello All,

I will soon be embarking on my first project shot entirely using the RED camera. I’ve previously done some light reading about RED, but have had no hands on experience. Can someone out there offer advice or point me in a direction to get a firm understanding on FCP workflow in regards to footage shot on RED?

    Hi Scott,
There are no many posts about REd work flow in FC.
You should have a look in the COW RED Forum.
I think you will get more info over there.

    Hi Scott

I would link you over to the RED user forum, but I can’t from here. You can find it via red.com. You will also get some good advice from reading existing posts on the COW RED Camera forum.

As a start, let me say that you can import using log and transfer into FCP, but for maximum quality and control you are still better off using RED rushes, RED Alert and RED Cine, all of which are supplied free from RED support.

Download some test R3D files from RedRelay.net and have a play with them. Familarise yourself with colour correcting RED rushes.

Have fun – the pictures are breathtaking…

    Ben

(How many times did I type RED there?)
