Hello, any advice on this would be appreciated.

    I shot on red.
    I’m editing ProRes422 in FCP.
I’m grading it out of house on resolve.

Ideally of course I’d like to grade the original 4K files. Is this just a matter of sending the colour house an EDL? Any tips from people who have done this before would be great.

    Thanks.

No, not that simple. Have you started this project yet?

I’m not sure how Resolve does it, but editing with ProRes files then reducing the sequence to one track and kicking out an EDL works really well for us with Scratch. We just copy the EDL and the R3D files to Scratch and it conforms.

So ask the color house how they want to do it. In fact, now that I think about it, you probably should have talked with them first before asking on the Cow, but that’s just me being picky. Sorry.
