    Hi there fellow bovines,

I have a broadcast project that has been shot in RED and Log and Transferred to ProRes 422 (HQ) 2048×1152 23.98fps square pixel. I need to get this to DGfastchannel SD…I’ve never done a center extraction before. How is it best to do this conversion without Hardware? Also, I need to do this before showing client approvals so, I have to have it ready in SD (in other words i cant jut do it at the end)…This is what i have come up with so far: 1)import footage into a 720×486 23.98fps NTSC CCIR 601 pixel. So, basically the sides of the HD are lobbed off. When I export at 720×486 it comes up 640×486 (actual) and when I custom export frame size at 720×486 it comes out distorted…what is the best way to do this? I know how to interlace using a squeeze template, but the pixel color space thing is kinda confusing me as to what is the best way to go about it…HELP!!

best to do it with compressor.

resizing it in fcp will look lousy.

make a copy of one that outputs prores

make sure resizing is set to highest quality

i think the last tab (where you set aspect ratio) set it for 4×3 1.33

it should show what it will look like on the right side of the preview window.
