    Dear Friends,

    I am screwed.
The RED drive we recorded to (3K – 48fps) won’t mount on any computer but the footage is playable inside the camera. I am attempting to capture from the camera and I am not getting anywhere… no signal.

Please give me some guidance any time you can. In the mean time, I am going to the hardware store for rope.

    Be back soon.

    Thanks
    J

An update for you, I see signal on the broadcast monitor with the signal going through the card in the mac, but FCP says “No Input Signal”

    How can that be?

    Does anyone have a workaround?

I have tried all output options from the RED.
Input using the HDSDI in to the Decklink extreme… far right of the three connectors at the back of the computer.

When using a DeckLink for capture you need to set FCP up with a “Easy Setting” that works for your camera output signal. Basically whatever is hooked up to that input HD-SDI on the decklink.

After a little research, I have this advice: check to make sure HD-SDI output is enabled in the menu as only one output is enabled at a time and you’ll need to set FCP up on a 720p59.94 setting. That is apparently the only signal that the RED will output.

You may want to hook up a monitor to the HD-SDI that can do that setting on the pass through to make sure signal there.

    Good luck.
