Have never done this before and having trouble getting it to work right.

Project edited in FCP 7 with pro res proxies.

When I export an XML and add the R3D files to the media pool in Resolve 9, I cannot get the XML to link to the R3D files. I have tried every conform and import setting I can see but it never seems to work….

I downloaded REDCINE X and took the FCP 7 XML in there, linked to R3D files and exported out and it kind of worked, although all effects are stripped out on round trip and there is some sort of offset in timecode in outs that I have to work out….

I feel there might be something very basic I am missing somwhere but am having trouble finding a clear, step by step workflow that works…

    Any suggestions?

    Thx

just compare the reel infos and the tcs you get with the xmls and compare it to what
your original media has in your media room. you have to set the import settings in a way
that those two infos are the same.

then most of it should connect without problems. spanning clips still may be partly offline.
but in worst case you have to link those files manually.

on which resolve version are you working?

After about a day trying to work it out, turns out the timecode on the pro res proxy files does not match the timecode on the R3Ds…..

    Outstanding DIT work….
