I recently fired up an old system with FCP 5.0 and it seems to work, but when I access a source clip in the viewer window, there is a dark RED cast over the VIEWER window. This red remains even if there is no source footage, (ie: if I open a new project) When I scroll through the foot a X appears in the upper right corner of the viewer. Any ideas about what is going on? Thanks

Sounds as if you have the display set to RGB+Alpha. Check the View popup.

    All the best,
