Can anyone tell me what the red box is in my browser window and how to get rid of it. It appears within photos that I crop and on the outside border of ones that I don’t. Thank you.

[Jim Schatz] “what the red box is in my browser window and how to get rid of it”

It’s an indicator that you’re zoomed in on your display viewer and you’re not seeing the whole frame. If you click and drag inside that box, you can view all parts of the frame. It’s used for blowing up the video and still being able to view any part of the frame.

You can get rid of it, by fitting the frame to window (SHIFT+Z with the display selected). You can also choose fit from the display settings in the upper corner.
